Spent a very comfortable night on the Ohio Turnpike last night. Arrived in the Detroit area around 11:30 AM, hooked up at the campground and started our marathon visiting day. First stop was with Darcy (niece) and her twin girls to her home in Pickney, some 60 miles from here. What a nice spot. Out in the country and away from the crowds and noise. Had a great visit and lunch then on to Romulus to visit my brother and his wife. Another great visit, unfortunately my brother is facing another possible surgery. On Wednesday he goes in for some testing (possible aortic aneurysm). Then it was on to visit Brooke (niece) and her four children. Baby Gabriella has sure grown and is talking up a storm. I didn’t recognize the boys they had grown so much. Spent a very nice visit with them then on back to the campground (9 PM) for some R&R. Tomorrow we plan to go to the Ford Museum and Ford Plant tour http://www.hfmgv.org/ and hopefully have time to visit the Greenfield Village.

Up and out to the Ford Museum. Tried using our GPS but routing has changed and we had to use our (Ron’s) sense of direction for this one. What a great place, but is so big we did not get to tour Greenfield Village as planned so will have to say another night and get that in tomorrow. Did get to tour the Ford Truck Plant and was able to watch an actual Manufacturing of the Ford - F150. The place is enormous and spotlessly clean. Cannot believe how many this one building covers. Also surprising was the number of people working on the production line each doing specific tasks as the parts of the truck went past on conveyor belts. Darcy was planning on visiting us this evening but we got back from our adventure a little too late and she had incurred a serious sprained ankle this morning requiring a soft cast and crutches. Although she still wanted to come for a visit the best plan was for her to keep her leg elevated to reduce the swelling. Met some very nice people in the campground who gave us several good tips on what to do and see in the UP. Will be heading out to Greenfield Village tomorrow then leaving for the UP. Hope all is well with everyone. We are having a great time.
